Busy! Busy! Busy!

Hi there! Gosh we've been busy lately, but now I'm here to write an extra long blog post just for you! Woohoo!

Let's see... Since I last wrote I recovered from my surgery, we had a mama's day dinner, we redecorated my room, Mommy finished classes,  I had my very first overnight, we started packing and did some work on the car, and Mommy and I painted together! Wow, that's a lot!

Recovery from the surgery took a few days, but I felt much better afterwards. I was without ear infections for almost an entire month before I got one again. I have one right now and SO sad to say my tonsils are swollen. I hope I don't have to have them out yet, but like Mommy says, it's all up to the doctor!

Mama's day went really well, we went to church and then had a family dinner. I got to play with my cousin Judy and that was SOOOO fun! Mommy and Daddy say I was being naughty the whole day, but I just call that FUN!!

Speaking of Mommy, she finished her Spring classes with 2 B's! We are spending lots of time together before she has to start Summer classes on June 3rd. And then guess that's happening on June 21st?? Can't guess??? We're MOVING!!!! I'm so excited to live in an apartment where I have my very own room! We already bought a lot of my new furniture and after we move I am getting my cousins old toddler bed.

Here's a picture of my room since I got the new furniture! Mommy took away my changing table and bookshelf since I was trying to climb on them, but I got all this new stuff that I love! If you can't tell the theme, it's princess. Once we move and I have my new bed I'll really be grown up, then Mommy says I might even start potty training. I don't really know what that is, but I'll try anything once!

So Daddy and Mommy have never taken their honeymoon. They were going to have it for their 1st anniversary, but then I came along and it never ended up happening. Well, a little while ago they decided to just have a mini honeymoon and go for a night in San Antonio to have fun, eat in fancy restaurants and stuff. They said I was finally old enough to go for an overnight with my favorite babysitter, Aunt Kim! It was so fun staying over there that I didn't even miss Mommy and Daddy! It went so well that they are going to finally take their honeymoon sometime this Summer!

And then there was THE BUSIEST DAY EVER. That was the day we started packing the kitchen, Daddy and I changed the break pads on the car, and Mommy and I painted a big piece of wood. It might not sound like a lot, but it was!

I had lots of fun helping Daddy, we both got really greasy! Then I started helping Mommy with her project. She was making me a height chart to mark my height on as I get older. Some day I'll have brothers and sisters to write heights on too!

It's really pretty in person! And for the final touch I put my very first hand print on there! As I grow older I'm going to put handprints up it until I reach the top all grown up!

Well, that's all for now! I'll post something new soon. So in the great words of my friend Tigger "TTFN, ta ta for now!"

Sincerely,
              Sophie

My Very First Surgery

Oh hi there! I wasn't expecting you! I was just going through Mommy's card purse before my surgery, heehee. Anyways, Mommy got a request for a post on how it all went, so here goes!

First of all I handled going without food AMAZINGLY!! I didn't even ask for milk more than once. Mommy even says I did fantastic in the outside waiting room and I was a good listener. I only went to time out once for climbing on chairs... oopsies! After waiting for way over an hour they finally called us back to a room where we waited for ANOTHER hour. I don't know how long that is, but it seemed like a really long time! I got to wear a Looney Tunes hospital gown that was kind of itchy, but at least I made it look cute! Don't you think?

Then it came time to go back and I didn't want to leave mommy. I was more than a little tired and hungry, and I wanted her to hold me. So I had a tantrum and wouldn't talk to anybody for a little while.

But then I decided to be brave. I got back into the bed. I held Baba (my blankie) and got ready to go.

It only took 30 minutes in surgery before they went to tell Mommy I was out and in recovery. She wasn't allowed to see me until I was totally awake and in the second recovery room, so when I woke up I was really scared. I screamed until they finally went and got Mommy from the waiting room. They told Mommy that it wasn't my ears hurting from the tubes so much as it was my throat. The doctor told her that they removed a TON of adenoid tissue. That just sounds yucky to me! But they went up my throat to scrape that out and that hurt a bunch! So I cried for a little over an hour and I threw the popsicle they gave me. I took some tylenol and they told Mommy I wasn't allowed to eat until we got out of the hospital. That's just the way they do things, but the doctor had said that I should be able to eat right away, I just probably wouldn't want to. So every time the nurses were out of sight Mommy snuck me applesauce and other fruits. That made me feel soooooo much better and I was finally able to sleep. Surgery makes a girl tired!

I had pretty bandaids on my ears holding the cotton in. I was so sleepy I slept for the next hour before I woke up when they were trying to take the monitors off me.

And here's a pic of me with Mommy. I was sad Daddy couldn't be there, but he got off on lunch right as I was going home so he spent his whole lunch hour with me! It was really fun and I even forgot about my throat for awhile. It was rough eating, but at the end of the day (and a few cookies later, teehee) I was feeling a little better. Daddy even bought be some ice cream!
So that's my story and I'm sticking to it! My very first surgery, getting tubes in my ears and an adenoidectomy! Thanks for reading and thanks everyone for worrying about me. Next post I'll surprise you all with some awesome pics of my new room!

Well, TTFN, ta ta for now!

Sincerely,
              Sophie

Coming Up Next:

Hi!! Wow I am just soooo excited for what's coming up! We've been doing so much neat stuff lately and I had another growth spurt, I feel soooo tall!! Anyways, let's get down to business so I can get back to playing!

We're into a routine now with Daddy's work, I wake up at 5 o'clock in the morning! I have daycare Tuesday through Wednesday and I'm home the rest of the days. For a lot of reasons Mommy had to drop two of her classes, so that's why I get to be home more now. On the weekends we all get to be home together, I think that's SO fun!

My new favorite thing is climbing. I LOVE to climb on anything I can get on top of, like my toys or upside-down toy bin! And my new favorite food are strawberries, they are so yummy.

What I'm REALLY excited about is spring break! First Christi and Eddie are coming to visit!! They are my Godparents. I haven't seen them in 4 months whole months! We might go to the Texas State Aquarium, go kart racing, to the beach, and maybe even rent a boat! Daddy still has to work during the week, but we'll still have lots of fun. Even the water park here is open, but I'm not so sure it'll be warm enough, so I probably won't go for awhile.

After that, at the very end of spring break, we'll be going to Houston to visit my friend Elijah!! I'm sooo excited to see him, he's a few months older than me and I just know we will get in lots of mischief together. We're probably going to go to the indoor Schlitterbahn in Galveston, and maybe the Houston zoo too!

We've got so much fun planned, I can't wait for it all to start!!! And soon enough we'll start making plans to visit College Station and San Antonio again. Woohoo!!

I can't wait to post tons of pictures! I've gotta get back to playing now, see you again soon!

Sincerely,

Fun with Rubber Ducks

HI THERE!! Want a duck??? I've been sick the last couple weeks with a double ear infection, so I haven't been up to writing much, but I am starting to feel much better!

On top of me being sick, Daddy and Mommy both got sick too! We are taking Daddy to the doctor later today. And as if that wasn't enough, the car got sick this morning too! It had to go to the car doctor and will be gone for a few days. :(

So today I just wanted to share a video of me and my living room water tub! Mommy set it up for me since I wanted to play in the water, but she didn't want to give me two baths in one day and it's still too cold to go swimming. I had SOOOOOO much fun!!! (Mommy says you should ignore her voice in the background, lol)

Well, that's all for now, I'll see you again soon!!

Sincerely,

Christmas: Come and Gone

Hi there! It's been awhile so I thought I'd post another blog! Christmas was fantastic, I loved the music and the family time and the presents too!

Okay, let's start with an update! Right before Christmas some of you might remember I got really sick. I went to the ER for a 105 degree fever and I stayed in bed for 6 days. We didn't think we'd be able to do anything for Christmas, I was so disappointed! But then my fever went down on Christmas eve and stayed under control for 24 hours. So at 3 o'clock on Christmas day we set off in a last minute decision to go to San Antonio to celebrate Christmas! We went and we saw my great Granny and Grandpa, my great Aunt Darla and Uncle Walter, and even my second cousins!

Mommy remembered to bring her camera to San Antonio, but we forgot to take any pictures! Oops! Next time we'll remember for sure so we will have plenty of pictures to share.

Then when we got home we had a little family Christmas and I got to open some more presents. I even got to try a little fudge, yummy! It turned out to be a pretty great Christmas! Here are some pics of me opening presents at home.

I had soooo much fun! And guess what? Mommy remembered to get the Christmas letters out this year! I hope everyone got one! If you didn't let me know and I'll tell Mommy to check the address and send another!

We didn't do much for new years, I was just too tired! But after new years Daddy started his new job! He is now working delivering coffee and water and he likes his new job. He says it's getting him some good exercise so he can get into shape, whatever that means. He's even going to get on health insurance again so he can get back to taking his heart medicine!

And for more exciting news, this semester when Mommy goes back to school, I get to go to daycare! Daddy, Mommy, and I all toured the daycare together and I got to play with some of the toys. I am so excited to play with kids my age, and the daycare lady said in my class they work on teaching the ABC's. I can't wait to learn and work on my talking more!

Well, I guess that's it for now! 2013 is going to be a great year, I can tell!

      See you soon!

Sincerely,
              Sophie

Christmas Is Coming!

Hey there, Merry Christmas! You heard me, Christmas!! I am already getting excited for it! That might have something to do with Mommy putting on Christmas music all the time, or all the neat decorations that are suddenly around our house, or maybe even the Christmas movie I got to watch the other day. Christmas is so fun!

And with the Christmas season come some good, and some bad, just like any other time of year. Please pray for my Grandma, she got into a bad car wreck Sunday and is having a really tough recovery. And also don't forget to offer up any prayers for anyone having a tough time during the holidays.

Want to see some of our GREAT Christmas decorations?? Here are some good ones! First, the stockings Mommy hand made from scratch. It took her a very long time, but I think they came out great! Don't you?

Then there are Santa hats around the house and candy canes on the Christmas tree!!

We've even been baking cookies!
An update on Mommy and Daddy. Daddy is really enjoying his job fixing computers at Office Depot. He needs to get a new job soon though because they won't give him enough hours. That's why Mommy doesn't like obamacare, if Daddy gets more than 28 hours a week they have to give him insurance, so they won't give him any more hours. I'm sure glad I don't understand any of that yet, it sounds stressful!
Mommy is almost done with her finals, just one left on Tuesday. So far she thinks she'll have either three A's and a B or two A's and two B's. Either way it should raise her GPA some. Yay Mommy! I'm ready for her semester to be over already so I can be the center of attention again! A whole month of Christmas and family time. Can't get much better than that!

And one more picture, here's one of me last Christmas, wasn't I cute?

Well, that's all for now, type to you later! And don't forget to spread some Christmas cheer each day leading up to Christmas for me. Okay? Bye!

Sincerely,
              Sophie
