Busy Busy Busy!

Hey you, Sophie Mae here! It's been quite awhile since we last talked, so sorry! It's just like the title of the blog post says. We've been busy busy busy! I'm just popping on for a quick post before bed right now, but I'll be sure to post more often as long as you keep reading. Deal? Deal. :)

Well where do I start??? Since we last talked I got a few more teeth. Now I have almost 8! Almost because the last two aren't quite in all the way yet. I chew on everything, especially the furniture! I now say dada, mama, nana, yaya, gaga, and my first real word is "kitty". Also, today when mama called me Silly I went around saying "sis sis sis sis" and that made Mommy laugh a lot! I totally took my first steps and I can now take 5 or 6 in a row before falling! Daddy and Mommy are so proud of me and all I can do.

Speaking of Daddy and Mommy, here's an update on them! Daddy got his promotion to wireless specialist at his job so now he sells more phones. A few days ago he went to training for his new job and was gone for two whole days! While he was gone Mommy and I had girl time and even had a picnic on the living room floor while watching my very first Disney movie. We watched Beauty and the Beast and I loved it!

Mommy's doing great in school, she loves her classes, especially Spanish! While she's at school I'm with Daddy and I've been having tons of fun with him. When we're together we play a ton, my favorite game is chase!

Lately we've been doing lots of stuff together as a family, like going to the park! I love the park, it's so fun! Mommy posted a bunch of those pics on her facebook if anyone hasn't seen. Even though we've all been busy, we make plenty of time to slow down and just be a family. Mommy says she's really going to miss my baby days, but I'm SO ready to grow up and be a toddler!

A few weeks ago I learned how to flip the pages on my books, so I've been reading and reading and reading! Here's a picture of me reading!

Well, I'm really sleepy, so I'm going to bed now. Goodnight everybody! I'll write to you again soon!

Sincerely,

Goofy Time!

Hey you! Sophie here playing with my favorite cat Socks. I have tons of pictures and stories to share this post, so let's get started!

First of all, I had a GREAT time when my Pepa and Yaya visited for Pepa's 49th birthday! I hadn't seen them since I was 5 months old so I was super excited. We went to the beach together and watched movies and had tons of fun! Pepa is Mommy's daddy, so she was extra happy to be able to celebrate his birthday with him! Here are a couple pictures from their visit.

This was when we all went to the beach together! It was so much fun! Everyone took turns going out in the waves and playing with me on the beach. It was even overcast so we didn't have to wear hats or put up the umbrella. So fun!

The only part that wasn't so fun, was when we were about to leave and I got tickled too much and it made me sad :(

And here's a pic of Mommy and Pepa when we went out for his birthday dinner!

While they were here we also went to pick up souvenirs for my cousins! Yaya got them some awesome Padre Island T-shirts to wear, and she got me a new Padre Island onesie that is just fabulous!

Daddy tried to get me to show off my new onesie since it shrunk to my size in the wash, but Mommy just couldn't get a picture where you could read the words. It says "If You Think I'm Cute, You Should See ME On Facebook". And then it says "Padre Island" on it too!

After Pepa and Yaya's visit we went back to our normal routine. And the next morning I got to eat blueberry pancakes in my pajamas! I LOVE pancakes so much! I ate an entire one!

I got to go back to my usual shenanigans and Mommy and I started spending more quality time together before she starts school. She's going back to classes on the 22nd so Daddy will be taking care of me in the mornings and Mommy will have me when Daddy goes to work in the afternoons. It's going to be tough getting used to being away from her more, but Daddy and I will have tons of fun together so it'll be okay. Wish us luck for the new semester!

One last thing, Mommy was sure that she didn't have any pictures at all from the day I was born, but that wasn't true at all! We just unearthed a bunch of pictures and a couple videos of my first ever bath! Mommy was sososo excited to have them, I don't really get why, but she says I'll understand someday. Here's the shorter of the two video's from my first bath.

Isn't it great to have good memories? On that note, Mommy has almost finished my baby book and it looks great! Okay well I've got to go back to playing with my kitty cat now! Socks won't wait forever! Bye!

Sincerely,
              Sophie

Eat Better, Spend Less!

*gulp gulp* Oh, hang on! *slurp slurp*

Hi!!! Sorry about the wait, you caught me in the middle of brunch! I guess it's as good a time as any for a new blog post. Mommy and I are just waiting for Daddy to get home from work.

So, remember last post when I told you that Daddy and Mommy are trying to get in shape by working out? Well Mommy's also starting a new initiative called Eat Better, Spend Less! She started a few days ago by making out a weekly meal plan that is fairly balanced and easy. Then she announced to the whole family: "Absolutely no eating out for an entire month!" Daddy and Mommy are unhappy to admit that we've been eating out far to much, around once a day! There is no excuse for that so it's time to change!

Now that we are eating in more I'm getting to try more new foods! I'm learning to use my fingers to feed myself and my sippy cup to drink. I had a bad time when I found out I can't eat pears. I have a super bad reaction to them, but at least we know now.

Mommy made omelets yesterday and said they turned out too pretty not to take a picture of, so here's a picture of Mommy's omelet!

Moving on. You know how I LOVE to play dress up? You don't???? Well I totally LOVE to play dress up!!! Now that you know, here's a picture of me playing dress up, mix and match style. We were being silly :)

And last but not least, a picture of my favorite cat Socks! We had just gotten back from the pool when Socks decided that my pool toy was his new bed! Silly Socks!

Well, I guess that's all for....
Oh wait! One more! One more! You can see 3 of my teeth in this one!

Now that's all! TTFN, ta ta for now!

Sincerely,
              Sophie

Just Another Day

What's up? How's it going? Sophie Mae here with some words of wisdom from my favorite author Dr. Seuss! (See below.)

"From there to here, and here to there, funny things are everywhere!" I hope the video makes you laugh!

I've been up to no good lately and having tons of new adventures like catback riding and playing dress up!

Here's a picture of me in what Daddy calls my first ghillie suit. I didn't know what that was so I looked it up on Google and found this!
^^ Ghillie Suit ^^

Silly Daddy! Ghillie suits aren't for kids!

Then Mommy said that reminded her of Cousin Itt from The Addams Family, but I didn't know what that was either, so I looked it up on Google too! -->

I still don't really get it. There sure are some funny things in the world!

^ Challenge Accepted. ^

Mommy finally signed up for her classes at A&M CC, they are about 4 times as expensive than her classes at ACC! She's already started getting her books for when school starts, and that's not even until August 22nd! I think Mommy's just excited to be going back to school. She is taking Public Speaking, Spanish (again), Macroeconomics, and Developmental Psychology (through the lifespan)!

Mommy and Daddy both started workout routines too. Mommy says they are leading by example. She's trying to lose 16 lbs and Daddy's trying to lose 30. Wish them luck!

So, back to me, Mommy says lately I've been a little stinker! I keep crawling out of the living room, so Mommy put up a pillow barricade to block my way, I accepted the challenge and acted accordingly. I shall overcome any obstacle! And now Mommy says she needs another baby gate, heehee.

Just one more thing! I wanted to show off one of the new shirt my Great Grandma bought me! It's a Noah's ark shirt from the Bahamas! I love it sooooo much! She also got me a Minnie Mouse onesie, but I don't quite fit in that yet. Thanks Grandma!!

Well, I guess that's all for now! See you soon!

Sincerely,
              Sophie

8 Months!

Hello there! As you've probably guessed from the title, this post is all about me turning 8 months. That's right, I'm a lean mean 8 month old dream!

First I've just got to say, today I'm in a better mood than I've been all week! Mommy thinks it's because my new tooth has popped through my gums a little bit and it's giving me some relief from teething. I'm just happy I've now got 3 teeth, count 'em 3!

Now what did we do for my eight month old birthday you ask? I got to eat turkey! I love love love turkey so much! It's my new favorite food. I also got to try apple juice for the first time and it was great too. And speaking of favorites, I've also got a new favorite thing ever! Standing tippee toe!

Now here's some news from Mommy and Daddy's side. Mommy's friend Sarah is getting married and asked her to be a bridesmaid! Yay! That's the 2nd wedding she'll be a bridesmaid in so she's really excited.

And Daddy's been working hard studying so he'll be ready to take his A+ certification test by August 25th. That's right folks, he's set a date! Once he's done with that he just has to come up with the money to take the network test too (not sure what it's called) and he'll be ready to get a job networking! Mommy thinks if Daddy puts his mind to it he could be in a new job by my birthday! Let's keep our fingers crossed!

I guess that's all for now! See you soon!

Sincerely,
              Sophie

Christi and Eddie Came to Visit

Hey!!! Sophie here again, how was your 4th of July? Mine was FABULOUS!! I got to see my godparents Christi and Eddie, we got to play games, have a poolside BBQ, go to the beach and the movies, and race go karts!! It was so fun!!! Wow, I sure am supercharged today!

I've had tons of firsts lately, I've stood on my own, walked with help, and tasted a slushie! Being the only baby in the house has been the most exciting thing ever! I am the center of attention at all times, I get tons of playtime so I'm never bored and, just between you and me, I can get away with anything! Haha!

Once Eddie and Christi got here on the fourth they were pretty tired so the fun really started on the 5th. I didn't get to see any fireworks because Mommy and Daddy decided I would probably be too scared of the loud noises since even quiet noises scare me sometimes.

On the 5th everybody went down to the pool to BBQ and swim. Daddy and Eddie ran the grill while Mommy, Christi, and I swam to our hearts content. The water was great and I was kicking like a rock star in the pool! I swam so well that Mommy said I was sure to be a little fishy and love water when I grow up. I think I'd rather be a mermaid than a fishy though!

Here's a pic of Christi and I, chillin' at the side of the pool!

On the 6th we all went to the beach! The first time I went to the beach I was scared of the waves, well this time was a little bit better, I was still super scared and I cried when Daddy tried to take me out. But I loved the sand! I kept trying to dig my feet and hands in on the beach away from the water.

Daddy and Mommy traded off with Eddie and Christi watching me under the umbrella while they went out and played in the waves. Eddie and Christi went out so far they saw a wall of fish and were surrounded by a school of fishies swimming by! Eeee!

Here's a pic of Eddie and I relaxing in the shade together! And another pic of me before I got sleepy and fell asleep on the towels.

After the beach Christi and Mommy traded off with Eddie and Daddy to go to the movies! Christi and Mommy went to see Brave and said it wasn't what they thought, but it was still awesome!! And Eddie and Daddy saw the movie Ted and said it was SO funny! Mommy says I can watch Brave when I'm a little older, but it will be a very very long time before I can see Ted. Oh well, I'm just excited to be able to watch TV in a few months when I turn one!

Then yesterday we all went to a place called Funtrackers! There were go karts, bumper boats, video games, bumper cars, and a mini golf course. I was too little to go on any rides, but I still had fun and got to taste my first ever taste of a blue slushie! Thanks Christi!

So that was my very fun weekend! Today I'm just crawling around the living room, listening to Mozart and wearing my 4th of July Hello Kitty shirt that Mommy got me. I may or may not also be chasing the kitties around while shrieking and trying to grab their tails. Teehee!

So that's all for this blog post. As my favorite stuffy Tigger would say, TTFN! Ta Ta For Now!

Sincerely,
              Sophie

Preparing for the 4th

   Well hello there...

Guess you caught me while I was eating! I know I only just updated you yesterday, but I just had to come on and write a new post!

Today we were preparing for the 4th of July! We put flags around the house and Mommy told me all about fireworks. They're these big beautiful explosions of light in the sky! There's supposed to be a stunning display of them over the water where we live. I'm so excited, I hope I get to see some on Wednesday!

So after Mommy told me about fireworks she told me about how even though we call it the Fourth of July, it's actually Independence Day and we are celebrating our freedom and independence as a country. Then she talked a bunch about politics and I stopped listening. Then we took pictures!!

I loved playing with that flag, it was tasty!

I'm so excited for the 4th! That day's extra special because my one of my godmother's is coming to visit! I say one because she is the godmother my Mommy and Daddy picked, then because I'm catholic, I needed to have a godmother who I can ask about the faith when I get older, that one's my Grandma! Anyways godmother #1 is Christi! I'm so excited because she and her fiance Eddie are coming to visit for 4 days!!! I'm sososososo excited!

Well, Mommy says we need to get to cleaning my room now before I go to bed so I've gotta go. See you soon!

Sincerely,
              Sophie
